Each year, CUPE 3907 donates to a number of charitable organizations, groups, causes, and campaigns.
General criteria for donations
Donations will be considered for organizations, groups, causes, and campaigns that share the Local’s goals of social justice, international solidarity, quality public education, and advancing
the labour movement.
Donations to local, grassroots, volunteer-based efforts will be given priority.
Please read carefully the Donation Guidelines in order to see if your request qualifies.
We do not consider requests for funds to attend or organize academic conferences. OISE graduate students are encouraged to check out the conference funding available through the UTGSU Conference Bursary, Graduate Student Conference Travel Program, and SGS Conference Grant.
We also do not make donations to individuals for financial hardship. CUPE 3907 members may be eligible for the Financial Assistance Fund.
Donation approval
Each donation request will be carefully reviewed even if the Local has donated to a particular organization, group, cause, or campaign in the past.
All donation requests will be processed by the Executive Committee, which may
- approve a donation of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00), or the amount authorized by the bylaws if it changes in the future, or
- reject the donation request, or
- refer the donation request to the next General Membership Meeting.
If you donation request meets the criteria above, submit the Donation Request form to cupe3907@gmail.com.
